Multimodal Management of Perioperative Bleeding

Anesthesiology Grand Rounds

1. Describe a multimodal approach to perioperative bleeding management that integrates allogeneic blood products, factor concentrates, and laboratory-guided hemostatic therapy
2. Evaluate current evidence supporting the use of fibrinogen replacement and prothrombin complex concentrates, including their potential benefits, limitations, and thrombotic risks compared with conventional plasma-based therapy
3. Apply these principles to the management of bleeding and coagulopathy in complex clinical settings, including surgery, trauma, and extracorporeal circulation
