Overview
The Nephrology Division at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center holds a weekly Clinical Nephrology Conference designed to enhance physician competence in diagnosing and managing complex nephrology cases. Each session features in-depth case reviews with structured discussion of evidence-based literature relevant to diagnosis, pathophysiology, and management. The program also includes invited external experts presenting updates on emerging therapies and evolving clinical guidelines, a quarterly journal club focused on critical appraisal of recent peer-reviewed studies, and periodic board review sessions to reinforce foundational knowledge and support professional development. The target audience includes nephrologists, internists, advanced practice providers, and trainees. Identified practice gaps include rapid advancements in nephrology therapeutics, variation in guideline adherence, and the need for better integration of new clinical evidence into patient care. Expected outcomes include improved clinical decision-making, enhanced familiarity with contemporary literature, and strengthened interprofessional collaboration to support high-quality, evidence-based nephrology care.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Evaluate and apply current evidencebased guidelines and emerging therapeutic advances to the diagnosis and management of complex nephrology conditions, including chronic kidney disease, glomerulonephritis, acute kidney injury, and hypertension
