Overview
Weekly imaging review and clinical case discussion with interventional radiology, hepatobiliary surgery, advanced endoscopy, hepatology, medical oncology and radiation oncology for cases with new or recurrent hepatobiliary lesions. Cases are from within Lahey as well as referred from community providers. Recommendations are made regarding monitoring, diagnostic workup, procedural interventions, and treatments, to ensure timely, coordinated care across departments for complex processes such as simultaneous evaluation for liver transplant and cancer directed therapies to keep patients within transplant criteria. Typically review 10-20 cases per week.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Appreciate the need for a multidisciplinary approach to tumors of the hepatobiliary system
  2. Incorporate evidence based medicine into the discussion of cases presented by tumor board members
  3. Identify opportunities for implementation of new care models in the treatment hepatocellular carcinoma, cholangiocarcinoma, pancreatic cancers, and other cancers affecting the hepatobiliary system
